A walk taken among the Beautiful Ruins.
By Luke Hsieh dedicated to K.D.

A walk taken among the long abandoned debris,
Can anything be more complete shattered than this?
Somewhere in our immemorial time line of gold,
Is there anything among these wreckage for anyone to hold?

There is something intensely tragic about all these,
Perhaps intensely beautiful too,
How the golden history does laughingly tease,
Our vain endeavor to outwit and outdo

At some point in time among the noblest gentlemen,
I am sure there were balls given,
Champagnes taken,
Waltzes danced,
Lovers chanced,

And now, there is nothing but crumbled walls,
Not a single note of the flowery waltzes can be heard,
Then I am left with these falling ruins,
To contemplate upon its long lost luster

Oh, The ruin is no less than beautiful,
I should not be sorry if our love ends in this fashion,
Are not all tragedies built on the concept of ruination?
If death be this beautiful, then why the fears?
'Tis only little drops of bittersweet tears little less and less more,
If our love is beautiful so should its death be,
I shall not fear upon the day when you cease to love me

Picking up a lose brick, I crushed it in my hand,
Love, beauty and my lady, little do I understand.
